Programming


YTV's broadcast day is divided into several blocks including a preschool block during the day, with 30 hours of commercial-free programming per week; The Zone, Canada's #1 after school block; and Crunch, a Saturday morning animation-fest for the cereal crowd. Evenings are now called Big Fun Weeknights and feature a lineup of drama, comedy and animation shows that are dedicated to family viewing and Big Fun Fridays include movies that will interest tween and teen girls who are watching with mom. Sunday mornings are dedicated to our top Nickelodeon shows leading into ZAPX which is a movie block that airs 3 movies back-to-back every Sunday.

Dayparts


A daypart is any timeblock of programming that has a live-hosted segment. Dayparts on YTV include The Zone, CRUNCH and ZAPX.


The ZoneThe Zone airs weekdays at 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. ET/PT on YTV.

The Zone is the number one after-school time block with Canadian kids, featuring the top ranked kids shows weekdays from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Highly interactive both on-air and online, host Carlos entertains kids with celebrity interviews, sketch comedy, cool contests and all things pop culture related. Kids can interact with The Zone through e-mail and Z-Boards (message boards) providing a constant and rich source of feedback and creative content - keeping The Zone constantly in-tune with viewers' interests.

Crunch!CRUNCH airs Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m.

CRUNCH is YTV’s Saturday morning, hosted cartoon block, airing the best in animated programming from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. CRUNCH incites kids to “Take Back Saturday Morning” and liberate them from their regular week of homework, chores, appointments and serious parent negotiations. With his playful style, host Andy gets kids to just laugh and be a kid while enjoying their Saturday morning cartoons. Kids can unite in the name of fun 24-7 on the web, through CRUNCH message boards, blogs and more. Long Live CRUNCH!

ZAPXZAPX airs Sundays at 6 p.m. ET/PT on YTV.

ZAPX (pronounced ZAP-PICS), YTV’s Sunday evening film block allows kids and parents to catch blockbuster movies in the comfort of their own home. ZAPX features guest hosts who introduce the hit ZAPX movie; dispense loads of ZAPFACTS (trivia for the ultimate movie buff) and even dish celebrity gossip and entertainment news. Sometimes the show ventures outside the cutting-edge ZAPX studio and hits the street to speak to kids and parents about everything from pop culture to the issues of the day.
